Egyptian Premier League powerhouses Ahly, Zamalek, Pyramids FC, and Ceramica Cleopatra are gearing up for the 22nd edition of the Super Cup set to kick off in the UAE on Sunday.

Ahly vs Pyramids

Ahly secured their spot in the tournament as the champions of the Egyptian League, while Pyramids FC earned their place as the winners of the Egypt Cup.

Ceramica Cleopatra clinched victory in the League Cup, and Zamalek snagged a spot with a wild card entry.

Ahly, a dominant force in the Super Cup with 14 wins out of 21 previous editions, are eyeing a rebound after a recent loss to Zamalek in the African Super Cup.

The Reds are determined to extend their legacy in this domestic competition, aiming to replicate their previous four-title streaks achieved twice in history.

To bolster their squad, Ahly made significant moves in the summer transfer window, bringing in four new signings including left-back Yahia Attiyat Allah on loan from Sochi and midfielder Omar El Saayi from Ismaily.

The team has bid farewell to key players such as Aliou Dieng and Ahmed Abdelkader, with Mohamed Abdelmonem being sold to Nice.

On the other hand, Zamalek, making their 12th appearance in the Super Cup after missing last year's edition, are riding high on their recent triumph in the African Super Cup against Ahly.

The Whites are aiming to secure victories in both the African and Egyptian Super Cups within a month and have strengthened their roster with notable signings like Moroccan left-back Mahmoud Bentayk and winger Konrad Michalak.

Pyramids FC and Ceramica Cleopatra, both seeking their maiden Super Cup triumph, are equally prepared for the challenge.

Pyramids, featuring in their third consecutive appearance, and Ceramica Cleopatra, in their second participation, are eager to leave a mark in this competition.

The stage is set for the semi-finals with Ahly taking on Ceramica Cleopatra and Zamalek facing Pyramids FC.

The competition will culminate in the final and the third-place match on 24 October.
