Zamalek winger Ahmed 'Zizo' Sayed, alongside Ahly's duo winger Hussein El-Shahat and goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir, have been named in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) preliminary list of nominees for the 2024 football awards.

The three players will be vying for the coveted title of Interclubs Player of the Year.

Zizo played a pivotal role in Zamalek's successful campaign in the Confederation Cup, while El-Shahat and Shobeir were instrumental in Ahly's triumph in the Champions League.

Shobeir has also been recognized among the nominees for the Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Both Ahly and Zamalek have been nominated for the Club of the Year award, with coaches Marcel Koller of Ahly and Zamalek’s Jose Gomes also featuring in the Coach of the Year category.

However, the Egyptian national team did not feature among the nominees for National Team of the Year, following their disappointing exit in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 earlier this year.

The list of nominees for Young Player of the Year notably lacks any Egyptian representation.

The CAF announced that the winners will be revealed on December 16 in Marrakech, Morocco.
