The EFA revealed on Saturday that a single slate, led by CAF Executive Committee member Hany Abo Rida and comprising eight members, including Mazhar, has been entered for the board elections.

The outcome of the board member elections will be determined at the EFA's general assembly, scheduled for 10 December.

However, with only one nomination list submitted, victory by acclamation appears imminent.

An alumna of Cairo University's Faculty of Mass Communication and holder of a master's degree in Public and Media Policy from American University in Cairo (AUC), Inas Mazhar has been a sports journalist at Al Ahram Weekly newspaper since 1991.

Additionally, she serves as adjunct faculty at the AUC, where she imparts knowledge on sports media within the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

A member of the Ballon d'Or jury since 2007, Mazhar is anticipated to leverage her expertise at the EFA, benefitting from her international connections and grasp of football management tools.

Mazhar brings significant experience in handling media affairs on the global stage, having previously held the position of Head of Media at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and the 2009 FIFA World Cup in Egypt.

She has fulfilled roles as a media officer in esteemed competitions, such as the 2008 U17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand and the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Since 2018, Mazhar has made impactful contributions to the football community, serving as a CAF Match Commissioner and leading the delegation for women's CAF and FIFA qualifications.

Noteworthy assignments include media officer roles at the AFCONs in 2021, 2023, and CHAN 2022, Champion League and Confederation Cup matches, and the FIFA Arab Cup in Qatar 2021.

The sole nominated list of EFA board members features Abo Rida vying for the chairman position and ex-Ahly board member Khaled El-Darandaly for the vice-president role.

It also includes members Ahmed Helmi El-Sharif, Hamad El-Sherbini, Mostafa Abou Zahra, Tarek Aboul Enein, Walid Abdel Gawad, and Mohamed Abou Hussein.
