The Cairo giants have recently missed the services of Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali as he sustained an instep injury while on international duty.
“Wessam Abou Ali suffered a minor instep injury in his right foot, and he will join the training in a week to ten days,” Komsan told Ahly’s TV early on Monday.
The 25-year-old forward, who has been in exceptional form, sustained the injury while training before his national team's showdown against South Korea in the Asian 2026 World Cup qualifiers last week.
Abou Ali, who scored 18 goals to win the Egyptian League's top-scorer title last season, has been a linchpin for Ahly since his arrival last January.
He is expected to be back in action for Ahly's participation in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 11 to 18 December.
Moreover, Komsan announced that Ahly's new Moroccan defender Achraf Dari will return to action in a week to 10 days.
Dari, who joined Ahly at the end of August, has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain sustained while warming up with his national team.
He was preparing to start for Morocco in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho when he twisted his ankle during pre-match exercises.
The 24-year-old was replaced as a precaution to prevent further injury.
Furthermore, Komsan confirmed that Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul, 34, will join the team’s training in mid-December after recovering from a knee injury.
“Maaloul is close to participating in the training as Ahly fans always appreciate players who serve the team well,” Komsan said.
“Maaloul will return from a big injury and works well in the recovery program. He is expected to join training in mid-December,” the assistant coach concluded.
