Zamalek delivered an outstanding attacking performance, claiming a 4-0 win over Ghazl El-Mahalla, moving up to second place in the Egyptian Premier League table.

“Thanks to El-Mahalla fans for the continuous support through the past year. I wish the best of luck to the team, players and the board. We delivered our best to develop the team, but we weren’t lucky enough since our qualification for the top-flight league,” the 44-year-old Abdel-Malek wrote on his Facebook account.

“I apologize for not committing to the agreement with the club as I decided to part ways amicably,” the former Zamalek forward added.

Monday’s loss left Ghazl El-Mahalla, who had played the game with 10 players since the first minute after sending off fullback Yehya Zakareya, in 13th place with only four points from four games played so far.

Under the guidance of Abdel-Malek, Ghazl El-Mahalla returned to the first division league this season after successfully ending the second division league last season in the 2nd place.
