The 30-year-old midfielder concluded his five-year spell with Ahly last July to embark on a new journey with Al-Wakrah SC in a transfer valued at approximately $3.25 million.
"A meeting between Ahly chairman Mahmoud El-Khatib and his counterpart at Al-Wakrah SC led to an agreement securing Fathi's loan services for the FIFA Club World Cup," a statement on Ahly's official website stated on Sunday.
The FIFA Club World Cup, typically held in December, has been rescheduled to run from 14 June to 13 July this year.
Spanning 11 cities in the US, the tournament will feature 32 teams from across the globe.
FIFA has agreed on interim transfer rules to help players change teams and qualify for the Club World Cup in the United States.
The Cairo giants have been drawn into Group A for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where they will face Brazil's Palmeiras, Portugal's FC Porto, and US side Inter Miami.
Fathi played a pivotal role in Ahly's triumphant season, contributing to their victories in the 2021/2022 Egypt Cup, the 2022 Egyptian Super Cup, and the African Champions League.
Throughout this season, Fathi has netted four goals in 34 appearances across all competitions for Ahly.
