"We haven't received any offers from Ahly to sign Mariano Diaz, and reports in Spanish medias are inaccurate. I'm unsure how they arrived at this news; no official has contacted us, and there are no ongoing negotiations with the club," David Aranda said in an interview with MBC Masr 2.
"I know that Ahly are looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming period, but there have been no contacts regarding Mariano Diaz," he added.
"About a year ago, some Egyptian agents spoke to me about interest from certain clubs in another player, not Mariano Diaz."
The 31-year-old forward, who has been without a club since leaving Sevilla, is currently focused on regaining his fitness.
"Mariano Diaz is diligently preparing himself for the upcoming period after taking a break to recover from the injury he sustained at Sevilla. He's now training and ready to consider offers," Aranda explained.
While ruling out current talks, Aranda left the door open for future discussions with Ahly.
"If any offer comes from Ahly, it will certainly be considered and evaluated, and Mariano Diaz would be open to it," he concluded.
