Ahmed Gaballah, the club’s medical doctor, confirmed the diagnosis and stated that Slim will undergo further medical examinations in the coming hours to determine the best treatment course.

Slim sustained the injury during the first half of the match, forcing him to leave the pitch.

He was replaced by South African forward Percy Tau. Despite the setback, Ahly cruised to an emphatic 6-1 victory over CR Belouizdad in the third round of the group stage.

The win solidified Ahly's position in the competition, but Slim's injury poses a challenge as the team faces a busy schedule.

The club will play Masry in the sixth round of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday at Borg El-Arab Stadium.

Reda Slim, 25, joined Ahly in July 2023 from the Moroccan club AS FAR. Since his arrival, Slim has made 23 appearances, scoring four goals and providing three assists.

Recently, Slim has attracted interest from Moroccan clubs, including Wydad and Raja Casablanca, who are keen on bringing him back to Morocco.
