After being held by Ceramica Cleopatra and Talae El-Geish, Gross, who embarked on his second tenure with the Whites, hopes for a third time charm.
Currently, the Whites are tied for the top spot in the Egyptian League table with reigning champions Ahly, boasting an 11-point lead.
Gross hopes that winger Ahmed ‘Zizo’ Sayed, striker Sief Jaziri Ahmed Fatouh and Omar Gaber will rediscover their form to fire the team on top.
Conversely, Ittihad of Alexandria, positioned seventh in the table with nine points, will be without several key players, including first-choice goalkeeper El-Mahdi Soliman and midfielder Hicham Adel due to injuries.
Under the guidance of Cypriot coach Nikodimos Papavasiliou, the Alexandrian outfit will also have to cope without winger Karim Yahya, as well as midfielders Amr Saleh and Abdel-Rahman Khaled.
Papavasiliou will rely on Fadi Farid, Ivorian Emmanuel Apeh, and Ghanaian Benjamin Boateng to steer them back to the path of victory and secure their third win this season.
Ittihad of Alexandria kicked off the ongoing season with high spirits, clinching three victories.
However, they lost their momentum as they failed to win any of their last four games.
