Ahly slipped one position in the standings, occupying third place in the Egyptian League with 12 points. Following Pyramids FC's recent victory over Gouna, Ahly trails Zamalek and Pyramids FC by a mere two points.
This Monday's draw marks Ahly's third tie in six games this season, having drawn against Ittihad of Alexandria and NBE Club on the third and fourth matchdays, respectively.
Despite Ahly's early pressure on Enppi, the petroleum side's defense successfully thwarted their attempts to score.
The game took a turn when, just two minutes before the final whistle, Enppi was awarded a penalty kick after defender Yasser Ibrahim blocked the ball inside the box.
However, Enppi’s defender Ahmed Kalosha missed the penalty kick, sending the ball far over the bar.
Ahly played without several key players, including Omar Kamal, Taher Mohamed Taher, Mohamed Hani, and Moroccan midfielder Reda Slim were absent due to injuries. Defender Khaled Abdel-Fattah was also sidelined for accumulating yellow cards.
Enppi currently holds the 14th spot in the Egyptian League table, having garnered only six points from seven matches this season.
The Petroleum side has secured one victory, suffered three defeats, and managed three draws.
In another match, winger Mohamed El Gabbas scored a last-minute goal to secure Pyramids FC's 1-0 victory over Gouna on Monday.
Pyramids FC now shares the top spot with Zamalek, both teams having accumulated 14 points in the Egyptian League standings.
