"The magic remedy from Alexandria’s pride to the kings of Africa and the most decorated team of the 20th century. Thank you, Mahmoud Gehad," the club said in the statement.
The 23-year-old had been a long-term target for the Cairo giants, with the move strengthening Zamalek’s roster as they prepare to vie with rivals Ahly and Pyramids FC for domestic and continental silverware.
Gehad, who made 50 appearances across all competitions for Pharco FC, registered two goals in nine league games this season.
The midfielder previously earned call-ups to Egypt’s U-23 Olympic team but did not secure a spot in the final squad for the upcoming Paris 2024 Games.
