The Reds have faced a series of challenges, drawing in five out of their opening ten matches.
Despite currently occupying the second spot in the table with 20 points, their recent draws against league leaders Pyramids FC, Pharco FC, Enppi, NBE Club, and Ittihad of Alexandria have resulted in a drop in points.
The Cairo giants, Ahly, have been proactive during the current winter transfer window, bolstering their squad with three key acquisitions: defender Mostafa El-Esh, striker Nejc Gradisar and midfielder Ahmed Reda, who will be available for the upcoming game.
Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki, whose arrival sparked excitement among fans, will be sidelined with a muscle strain for Sunday's match
They also signed winger Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan from Turkish side Trabzonspor, set to join in July.
Ahly will do without regular defender Yasser Ibrahim after sustaining a muscle injury during the 2-2 draw against Pyramids FC last week.
Several key players, including Moroccan defenders Yahya Attiat-Allah and Achraf Dari, winger Taher Mohamed Taher, and long-term injured players Moroccan winger Reda Slim, Karim Fouad, and Tunisian defender Ali Maaloul, are currently sidelined.
Striker Wessam Abou Ali, the prolific Palestinian forward who led the scoring charts last season, is also out of action due to a persistent muscle injury.
On the other hand, Modern Sport FC is desperate for a turnaround in their season as they languish at the bottom of the table with only seven points from ten matches.
With just one win, four draws, and five losses, they are striving to improve their standing.
The team has recently acquired former Ahly striker Hossam Hassan from Smouha, who will be ready to make an impact in the upcoming match.
