Following two successive draws, the team secured the victory to move to second with 23 points, just one point afrift of Pyramids FC.

Modern Sport are struggling at the bottom of the table, amassing a mere seven points from 11 matches.

January signing Gradisar set the tone for the defending champions by opening the scoring 15 minutes into the game with a powerful strike from inside the area after a through pass from Hussein El Shahat.

Emam Ashour extended the lead in the 30th minute, capitalizing on an assist from Amr El-Sulaya to slot home another powerful strike.

Just before the break, Gradisar played a brilliant outside-of-the-foot cross to Ashour, who beat the keeper with a cool finish in a one-on-one situation.

Arnold Eba managed to pull one back for Modern Future FC 15 minutes before the final whistle.

Standout defender Mostafa El Esh, a recent winter acquisition, showcased a solid defensive performance with notable blocks throughout the game.

Ahly lost their pace in the second half allowing their rivals to gain possession.

Though, second-half substitute Omar El-Saaiy came close from scoring his first goal for the team but his close range shot was denied by the post.

Ahly's upcoming fixture is against Petrojet in the 12th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
