“We sent a letter to asking the EFA to stop the fatal refereeing errors that have negatively affected recent game outcomes and could lead to new problems in the future,” Ahly said in a statement published on its official website.
“We asked the EFA to appoint a foreign refereeing crew from the top European leagues to officiate the next derby,” Ahly said in a statement.
“The club also urged the EFA to appoint an experienced foreign referee as head of the refereeing committee, as was agreed before the start of the season, and to provide all the necessary support for their success,” the statement added.
Ahly's request came after controversial referring decisions secured crucial victories for Zamalek and Pyramids FC in two games on the 12th matchday.
The Red Devils currently sit second in the league table with 26 points from 12 games, three points ahead of third-place Zamalek and one point behind leaders Pyramids FC.
