Masry will approach the game with high ambitions, aiming to secure a place in the semifinals of the secondary continental tournament for the second time in their history.

This marks the Port Said club's sixth appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup, with their best performance coming in the 2017/18 edition, when they reached the semifinals before losing to DR Congo’s Vita Club.

The match against Simba will also be the debut for newly appointed Tunisian coach Anis Boujelbene, who took over in late February.

Since his arrival, Boujelbene has led Masry in four games, winning two, drawing one, and losing one in the Egyptian Premier League.

Masry recently impressed with a solid performance in a goalless draw against Egyptian Premier League title contenders Pyramids FC, halting their winning run in the league.

Masry secured their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals by finishing second in Group D with 9 points, while Simba topped Group A with 13 points.
