"Despite the 1-0 lead, we are fully aware that Al-Hilal is a strong team, so we will approach the game carefully," Koller said during the pre-match press conference.
"We are ready for the game and prepared for the conditions, especially playing on artificial turf," the Swiss coach added.
Ahly right-back Mohamed Hani’s first-half strike was enough to secure a 1-0 victory for the Reds in the first leg at Cairo International Stadium.
The win puts Ahly in a favourable position heading into the return leg as they pursue a record-extending 13th CAF Champions League title.
Al-Hilal, which topped its group despite challenging circumstances, will need a stronger offensive performance in the second leg to reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2015.
"Ahly’s players are experienced enough to handle any situation," Koller concluded.
