Pyramids FC, who lost 3-2 to Pharco FC earlier on Sunday, now have 47 points, while Ahly lie second with 46 points, making the four remaining games in the Egyptian League even more intense.

Ahly needed only nine minutes to open the scoring, with in-form winger Taher Mohamed netting the first goal from close range.

In the 27th minute, Taher Mohamed provided a nice back pass to Ahmed Nabil, who doubled the lead with a precise right-footed shot.

Ahly maintained their dominance against a subdued El-Hodoud side, who failed to threaten keeper Mohamed El-Shennawy in the first half.

Striker Wessam Abou Ali received a fine pass from Marwan Atteya, allowing him to score the third goal in the 55th minute.

Tunisian fullback Ali Maaloul made his first league appearance of the season, coming on for Moroccan winger Achraf Nencharki in the last 20 minutes.

Substitute winger Hussein El-Shahat added the fourth goal in the 73rd minute, scoring into an empty net after a series of short passes from Ahly players.

Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour had several opportunities to score but was unable to secure his tenth league goal due to poor finishing on some occasions, while El-Hodoud's keeper denied him on others.

Mohamed Hani completed the rout in injury time with a well-placed shot from inside the area.

Ahly will take on Masry on Thursday at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab Stadium.
