The Egyptian Premier League (EPL) has once again rejected Pyramids FC request to postpone their upcoming match against Ceramica Cleopatra on the final day of the domestic league, citing several reasons.

Ceramica Cleopatra are set to host Pyramids FC in Suez on Wednesday, with Pyramids requesting another postponement to focus on their continental campaign.

Pyramids FC secured a 1-1 draw with South African side Sundowns in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final on Saturday in Pretoria and are scheduled to host the South African side in Cairo on Sunday.

The Emirati-owned club had previously requested the EPL to reschedule the game and reaffirmed their request on Sunday, but the EPL rejected both submissions.

The EPL explained that there was no possibility of finding an alternative date for the game, particularly with the upcoming FIFA international break scheduled to begin on June 2.

Additionally, the league stated that all matches must be played at the same time during this crucial week to ensure fairness for all teams.

Ahly, who are set to face Pharco FC on Wednesday, are leading the table with 55 points, just two points ahead of second-placed Pyramids FC.

Masry (4th, 39 points), Ceramica Cleopatra (5th, 37 points), and NBE Club (37 points) are all competing for the fourth spot, which will secure a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Masry will host Harras El-Hodoud, while NBE Club will face Petrojet.

The EPL also stated that, during a recent meeting with Premier League clubs, all teams unanimously opposed the idea of postponing any matches in order to maintain the integrity of the competition's schedule.

Pyramids FC, Zamalek, and Harras El-Hodoud were absent from this meeting, which also saw the EPL announce the cancellation of relegation for this season.
