Ahly’s influential midfielder Emam Ashour is set to rejoin the training starting from Monday after being sidelined for weeks. Meanwhile, the injury of Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ben Romdhane is a minor one, the club announced on Saturday.

The 27-year-old Egyptian international has been out of action for almost two months as he recovered from a broken clavicle surgery, an injury he sustained during Ahly's participation in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup last June.

“Ashour will be available for Monday’s training session after recovering from clavicle surgery. The medical staff decided that the player will do light trainings while his participation will be decided by the technical staff,” Ahly said in a statement via its official website.

Ashour missed Ahly’s two opening league matches of the season as the Cairo giants held to a 2-2 draw with Modern Sport last week before beating Pharco FC 4-1 on Friday.

He was crowned the 2024/25 Egyptian Premier League top scorer after netting 13 goals, an impressive tally that contributed significantly to Ahly's title-winning campaign.

Meanwhile, the club doctor also announced that Tunisian midfielder Mohamed Ben Romdhane picked up a minor knock against Pharco, but the injury is not expected to keep the 25-year-old player out of the next match.

Ahly’s next game will be against Ghazl El-Mahalla on Monday, 25 August. The Red Devils will be out of action with a bye during the third round of the league next week.
