Walid El-Karti opened the scoring in the 14th minute, tapping into an empty net after following up on a strike from new signing Ewerton.
Marwan Hamdi doubled the lead in the 74th minute with a simple header from close range, converting a pinpoint cross from Mohamed Hamdi.
Mostafa Ziko sealed the win with a third goal, pouncing on a loose ball in the area and beating the goalkeeper with a low shot into the bottom right corner.
CAF Champions League holders Pyramids FC dominated the match from the outset, marking a convincing start to their first-ever appearance in an international competition.
The Intercontinental Cup, introduced in 2024 in Qatar, brings together the club champions from each of FIFA’s six confederations in a knockout format. The European champions enter directly into the final.
Following Sunday’s win, Pyramids FC will face Asian champions Al Ahli Jeddah of Saudi Arabia on 23 September in the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup.
