Despite climbing to the league’s top spot on Saturday after a dominant 3-0 win over Masry, but the Port Said side managed to leapfrog the White Knights by one point after defeating Ghazl El-Mahalla 2-1 on Wednesday.

Zamalek now sit second in the league standings with 13 points, just behind leaders Masry.

Their task in Ismailia looks to be easy, given the ongoing struggles of their opponents, who have been enduring a tough period in the domestic league for several seasons.

The victory over Masry helped Zamalek regain their confidence following a surprising 2-1 loss to newly-promoted side Wadi Degla in the previous round.

Against Masry, the Cairo giants showcased a solid performance against a strong opponent.

Brazilian winger Juan Alvina continued his brilliant form, as did veteran playmaker Abdallah El-Said.

Midfielder Nasser Maher also excelled in the match, and Belgian coach Yannick Ferrera will likely rely on this trio to lead Zamalek’s attack against Ismaily.

Angolan winger Chiko Banza, who missed the win against Masry due to his late return from international duty, will be available for Thursday's clash.

However, injured midfielder Mohamed Shehata will remain sidelined as he is yet to recover from a muscle injury.

Defender Mahmoud Hamdi will also miss out due to a three-match suspension following his red card in the defeat to Wadi Degla.

Mohamed Ismael, who made an impressive debut against Masry, is expected to continue in the heart of defense alongside international defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid.

On the other hand, Ismaily will be hoping to pull off an upset against the league leaders.

Sitting third from the bottom with four points, the team has struggled throughout the season and remains in a fight to avoid relegation.

With just one win in six matches and four defeats, Ismaily's campaign has been marred by inconsistency.

Their struggles can largely be attributed to a persistent financial crisis and a transfer ban, leaving them reliant on a squad of youth players.

Though lacking in experience, these young talents bring plenty of enthusiasm and will be hoping for a shock result against Zamalek.
