The 29-year-old was involved in an altercation with an organizer in Abu Dhabi after Zamalek’s win over Pyramids FC in the opening match of last year’s tournament.
He was detained along with then-teammate Mostafa Shalaby and former football director Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed before being released.
Zamalek, who face Pyramids FC in their Super Cup opener on 6 November in the United Arab Emirates, had asked the EFA to clarify Dunga’s eligibility amid reports he could feature in the tournament.
Egypt Cup holders Zamalek lost to arch-rivals Ahly on penalties in the final of the previous edition.
The 23rd edition of the Super Cup will take place in the UAE from Nov. 6 to 9, featuring Egyptian Premier League champions Ahly, runners-up Pyramids FC, Cup winners Zamalek, and League Cup holders Ceramica Cleopatra.
The winner of the Zamalek–Pyramids tie will meet the victor between Ahly and Ceramica in the final on Nov. 9.
Ahly have a record 15 Super Cup titles, while Zamalek have won the trophy four times. Pyramids and Ceramica are seeking their first title.
