NBE Club striker Osama Faysal put his side ahead from the penalty spot in the 30th minute, before Angola international Chico Banza equalized three minutes later.
The result left Zamalek fourth in the standings on 19 points, four behind leaders Ceramica Cleopatra. NBE Club moved up to ninth with 15 points.
The first half offered little excitement beyond the two goals.
Faysal won the penalty after being fouled in the area by Zamalek defender Mohamed Ismail, then calmly sent goalkeeper Mohamed Sobhi the wrong way to score.
Banza levelled soon after, firing into the roof of the net after following up a rebound inside the box.
Zamalek coach Yannick Ferreira introduced Amr Nasser, Seif Gaafar, Abdel-Hamid Maali, Seif Jaziri and Ahmed Rabie in the second half in search of a winner, but the Cairo side failed to find the breakthrough.
Juan Bezerra came closest when his close-range header struck the woodwork, while Nasser sent another effort wide.
NBE Club were content to hold on for a point, leaving Zamalek without a win in their last four league outings.
Zamalek next face Talaea El-Geish on Sunday.
