The Green Eagles are in Group D alongside Zamalek, Kaizer Chiefs, and ZESCO United.

“The first game in the group stage is important, but not decisive. What matters most is making a strong start, especially since it's a home game,” said Masry’s Tunisian coach, Nabil Kouki, at the pre-match press conference on Saturday.

“We will give our best to secure the points and make our fans happy. It's crucial to start any tournament with a win to boost morale,” Kouki added.

Masry will have to make do without defender Baher El-Mohamady, who is sidelined due to injury, as well as striker Salah Mohsen, who is suspended.

The Port Said-based club secured their spot in the group stage with a 2-1 aggregate victory over Libya’s Al Ittihad in the second preliminary round.

Masry will travel to Zambia to face ZESCO on 30 November before facing Zamalek in the third round.

They will then play Zamalek again in the fourth before heading to South Africa to play Kaizer Chiefs on 8 February, before facing ZESCO in the final round on 15 February.
