“CAF strongly condemns the serious safety and security breaches that took place during the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League matches on 28 November 2025 between ASFAR (Morocco) vs Al Ahly (Egypt) and JS Kabylie (Algeria) vs Young Africans (Tanzania),” read a statement on its official website on Monday.
“These incidents have been formally submitted to the CAF Disciplinary Board for investigation.”
Ahly’s 1-1 draw away to FAR in Rabat was halted for several minutes after home fans threw projectiles onto the pitch.
The Egyptian club issued a statement on Sunday urging CAF to guarantee the safety of players and officials.
The goalless draw between Young Africans and hosts JSK also saw misconduct from sections of the Algerian crowd frustrated by their team’s failure to win at home.
Ahly top the group on four points, level with Young Africans, while FAR and JSK sit third and fourth respectively on one point each.
