This marks the second such sanction in less than two weeks, after FIFA imposed a similar ban on 24 November for failing to settle outstanding financial obligations to former Swiss coach Christian Gross.
FIFA did not disclose the reason for the new sanction, but a source within the club revealed that it pertains to unpaid dues owed to former Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi, who reportedly owes the club $505,000.
The cash-strapped side has faced repeated sanctions from FIFA in recent years due to unpaid debts.
The restrictions will remain in place until the six ongoing disputes are resolved.
In a related development, Zamalek revealed their football team's budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, which shows a deficit of EGP 452 million (approximately $9.5 million).
The new transfer ban, combined with the budget shortfall, further complicates Zamalek’s financial woes and is expected to impact their plans to strengthen the squad during the upcoming January transfer window.
Zamalek, who last won the Egyptian Premier League title in 2022, have struggled with inconsistency this season. They currently sit third in the standings with 22 points, seven behind leaders Ceramica Cleopatra, who have played one match more.
