The 27-year-old left-back has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract tying him to Ahly, as the Cairo giants continue to strengthen their squad ahead of key domestic and continental commitments.
Belammari marked his departure from Raja Casablanca earlier on Wednesday with an emotional farewell message posted on his Instagram account, thanking the club’s supporters, players and officials after what he described as an unforgettable journey.
“Today I reach the farewell station, after a journey that will remain firmly etched in my heart and memory for as long as I live,” Belammari wrote, praising Raja fans for their unwavering support and expressing gratitude to the club’s management, technical, and medical staff.
“I leave today with a clear conscience, because I never held back for this jersey for a single moment,” he added.
Ahly are set to register the Moroccan defender on both their domestic and African rosters. According to local reports, the club has removed Moroccan center-back Ashraf Dari from the squad list to make room for his compatriot.
Belammari was part of Morocco’s squad at the recent Africa Cup of Nations, where the Atlas Lions finished runners-up after losing the final to Senegal.
The defender arrived in Cairo on Wednesday evening to begin training with his new teammates, as Ahly prepare for Friday’s CAF Champions League group-stage match against Young Africans.
