Ahly has already begun preparing for the Club World Cup in Japan set for December - only allowing themselves a short breath after winning the CAF Champions League trophy.

The club's football committee is studying the team's needs under the leadership of chairman Hassan Hamdy, with the attendance of member Mahmoud El-Khatib, football sector manager Hadi Khashaba, coach Hossam El-Badry and football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz.

They are considering holding a closed camp in Japan before the global competition and playing a friendly or two during their stay there.

The Cairo giants earned the title of African Champions Saturday, beating Esperance of Tunisia 3-2 on aggregate in the CAF Champions League final.

Ahly, winners of seven African trophies, have reached the club World Cup championships three times, gaining the bronze medal in 2006.
