Liberian striker Francis De Forkey suffered a knee injury during training on Saturday and will be on the sidelines for at least a week.

“Francis underwent scans today and he needs to rest for a week,” Ahly doctor Walid Abdel-Baky told the club's official website.

The striker has had a constant struggle at Ahly as he has suffered a long string of setbacks since joining the Red Devils in summer 2009, from DC United.

He was on Ahly’s transfer list but due to the lack of potential on the frontline, he was given another chance until summer 2011.

Meanwhile, coach Manuel Jose Da Silva will have a boost in attack as Mohamed Fadl is near to resuming full action.

“Fadl will return to training in the next few days after completing his rehabilitation,” Abdel-Baky added.

The 30-year-old striker suffered a torn muscle in a training session and was out of action for more than a month. The former Ismaily striker has been struggling with back and knee injuries since the beginning of the season.

However Ahly are in no rush to get the players back as the league is at a standstill, at least until the beginning of March.
