Ahly are set to buy midfielder Saleh Gomaa from ENPPI when the winter transfer window reopens in January.

Red Devils coach Hossam El-Badry wants Gomaa to replace injured hitman Hossam Ghaly who will be out of action for more than six months after sustaining a ruptured anterior knee ligament during the Club World Cup in Japan.

Al-Ahram Arabic website reported that ENPPI had demanded LE8 million for the player and Ahly had agreed to pay the fee in installments.

Gomaa, 19, played under El-Badry at ENPPI before he took the job at Ahly.

The midfielder is part of Egypt's 25-man squad for their friendly against Qatar in Doha on 28 December.
