Egyptian giants Ahly announced on Tuesday that TP Mazembe's striker Deo Kanda will be medically examined by the club this week before completing a possible move.

"Deo Kanda will arrive in Cairo on Tuesday's night and undergo some medical tests this week," read a statement on the club's official website.

The 23-year-old made a big impact with DR Congolese side TP Mazembe in the last year's Champions League, scoring for his side in their 2-0 win over Ahly in the last edition's quarter.

The international striker, who won with TP Mazembe two African titles in 2009 and 2010, has terminated his contract with the club due to financial differences.

Ahly are looking to strengthen their front line as the club have only three strikers (Emad Meteb, Ahmed Abdel-Zaher and El-Sayed Hamdy).
