Haras El-Hodoud missed a precious opportunity to climb to the second place in Group A in the Egyptian League table after being held to a goalless draw by Wadi Degla on Thursday.

The military club remains third of the group with 15 points, while Degla lies at the bottom with four points.

As for Group B, Ittihad El-Shorta earlier thrashed El-Entag El-Harby 4-1.

Nigerian midfielder Maarouf Youssef opened the scoring for the hosts in the 13th minute, after which Ibrahim El-Qadi doubled the lead in the 31st minute.

Two minutes later, striker Mohamed El-Sadat made it three, and Mohamed Magued completed the rout in the 76th minute.

El-Entag El-Harby defender Medhat Ramadan scored the consolation goal for the visitors in the 71st minute.

Ittihad El-Shorta remain third in group B with 15 points, nine behind leader Zamalek.
