Zamalek's doctor Mostafa El-Monayeri said on Thursday he is waiting for scan results to determine the fate of the team's forward Mohamed Ibrahim.

The talented forward has been rendered doubtful for Zamalek's upcoming clash against Saint George in the first leg of the Champions League round 16 after skipping the team's training in the past two days due to back pains.

The match is set to be played on Saturday in Cairo.

"I am waiting for the scan results to know the extent of the injury," Zamalek's doctor said on the club's official website on Thursday.

The 21-year-old is a key player in Zamalek's squad as he produced a string of fine displays since the start of this season.

Ibrahim's absence will be a problem for coach Jorvan Vieira as the team's veteran midfielder Ahmed Hassan has been ruled out of the game due to hamstring injury.
