Zamalek's defender Salah Soliman will be out of action for an unspecified period after he underwent a facial surgery to repair a broken bone, Zamalek's doctor told Ahram Sports on Wednesday.

The White Knights defender left the pitch in the stoppage time during his side 1-0 win over Ittihad El-Shorta in the Egyptian Premier League on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old defender is likely to miss Zamalek's crucial clash against Saint George of Ethiopia in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 early next month.

Zamalek, who are chasing their first Champions League title since 2002, were held to a 1-1 draw by Saint George in the first leg.
