Egyptian League side Maqassa has named Tareq Yehia as the team's new coach until the end of the current season.

"I accepted responsibility for coaching Maqassa," Yehia told Egyptian Radio on Monday.  

Coach Hossam Hassan resigned last week after a string of poor results, which sent the team to the bottom of Group A with 11 points.

Yehia has previous experience coaching Maqassa, having led the team's technical staff during the last three seasons.

Under his guidance, Maqassa managed to produce a string of strong performances.
