Zamalek striker Amr Zaki may miss the Cairo giant’s highly anticipated match against Tunisian side Club African due to a knee injury.
The Pharaohs’ star was hit with a new knee injury after receiving an adverse knock during his club’s friendly against the National Bank Club on Sunday.
Zaki is a doubtful pick now for the Club African match which will be held on 18 or 20 March.
The talented striker was barred from travelling with his teammates to Syria next Wednesday to begin preparations for the game in a closed camp.
“I will not undergo a new surgery. I will just check my knee in Germany or Qatar after the recent knock,” Zaki was quoted as saying by Egyptian media.
“I will follow me teammates to Syria as I am ready for Club African game,” the 28-year old player added.
The White Knights had just retained Zaki’s services after being on the sidelines since last October because of a serious knee injury.
