Mido announces Zamalek squad for Niger trip

The White Knights, who took a first-leg advantage last Sunday, to depart for Niger on Friday as they prepare for their preliminary-round game against AS Douanes in the CAF Champions league

Zamalek coach Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam announced on Wednesday his 20-man squad for Sunday's clash against Niger's AS Douanes in the return leg of the African Champions League preliminary round.

According to Zamalek's official website, the Cairo giants, who claimed an easy 2-0 win at home to Douanes to take a first-leg advantage last Sunday, are due to leave for Niger in the early hours of Friday.

Zamalek are third in Egyptian Premier League Group B with 13 points, four behind leaders Petrojet who have played an additional game.

Under former Tottenham, AS Roma and Marseille striker Mido, the White Knights won three matches (one in the CAF Champions league) and drawn one.

The squad:

Goalkeepers: Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed, Mahmoud Gennesh

Defenders: Yasser Ibrahim, Hamad Toulba, Mahmoud Fathallah, Salah Soliman, Omar Gaber, Hazem Emam, Ahmed Samir, Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, Mostafa Ibrahim

Midfielders: Nour El-Sayed, Ahmed Tawfiq, Moustafa Fathi, Islam Awad, Omar Gamal

Strikers: Arafa El-Sayed, Mo'men Zakaria, Ahmed Gaafar and Ahmed Ali
