Ittihad of Alexandria continued their outstanding performances in the Egyptian Premier League after beating Raja on Monday.
Striker Ahmed Sherweda scored the match's only goal just five minutes before the final whistle to grant the coastal side their third successive win and their fifth of the season.
Ittihad currently lie second in the league's Group A on 21 points, four behind leaders Smouha, while Raja trails in ninth place with nine points.
Also on Monday, Arab Contractors returned to their winning form after beating ENPPI 1-0.
The Cairo-based club had registered draws in three successive matches before dealing a 0-1 defeat to Smouha in the previous round.
Arab Contractors are third on 20 points, while the petroleum club, ENPPI, is struggling at seventh place on 11 points.
Newly-promoted side Minya thrashed Haras El-Hodoud 3-0 to secure their second win of the season.
It was the team's first victory since the league's opener against Haras El-Hodoud in December.
Despite the win, Minya remain at the bottom of Group B with eight points, the same number as El-Hodoud who are ninth.
