Arab Contractors came back from one goal behind to salvage a 1-1 draw with third-placed Ittihad and retain a Group A second spot in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.
Ittihad were denied the chance to leapfrog Contractors in the second half when up-and-coming star Mohamed Farouk cancelled out Mohamed Samir's first-half goal.
Both teams have 22 points as Contractors, four points behind leaders Smouha, are ahead on goal difference in the Group A table.
Elsewhere, ENPPI missed out on the chance to leap three places to sixth spot after being held to a 1-1 draw away at Ghazl El-Mahalla.
Salah Ashour gave the petroleum side the lead in the 22nd minute before Mahmoud Bazid restored parity for Mahlla from the spot in the second half.
ENPPI are eighth in Group A on 12 points as Ghazl El-Mahalla are sixth with 14.
