Zamalek's newly-signed left-back Ahmed Samir Farag could make his debut with the squad in the rescheduled Egyptian Premier League clash against Wadi Degla on Wednesday.

Egyptian international Farag, who moved to Zamalek on a free transfer after rescinding his deal with Belgium's Lierse, has been ineligible to play for his new club as he joined in February, after the previous month's deadline for the transfer window had passed.

But now that the 27-year-old's registration process has been completed, the former Ahly and Ismaily man is set to make his bow against third-placed Degla.

Farag provides more options for Zamalek manager Ahmed Hossam 'Mido', who had to do without the only recognised left-back Mohamed Abdel-Shafy in the 1-1 draw with Talae El-Gaish due to an automatic suspension.

Meanwhile, striker Ahmed Gaafar, midfielder Islam Awad and right-back Ahmed Samir were all omitted from the 20-man squad.

Zamalek, seventh on 16 points, would shoot up four places in Group B table should they beat Degla as the Whites still have another two games in hand.
