Smouha beat Dakhleya 3-0 in the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday to overtake title holders Ahly on top of Group.

An eighth-minute goal by Ghanaian striker Samuel Owusu gave Smouha an early lead before a late brace by Hani El-Egeizi wrapped up the Alexandria side's victory over Dakhleya.

Smouha are leading Group A with 32 points, three over second-placed Ahly with five matches remaining. The top two in each group will qualify for a final mini-league phase to determine the league winner.

Elsewhere, Ittihad of Alexandria defeated Ghazl El-Mahalla 2-1 to retain their slim hopes of reaching the final phase. They currently lie third on 27 points.

Striker Sherif Ashraf scored in the 40th minute to give Gouna a 1-0 win over Arab Contractors while Maqassa were held to 1-1 draw by bottom side Ragaa.

ENPPI, who are eighth on 17 points, defeated El-Entag El-Harby, who are still 10th with 13 points, 1-0.
