Former Pharoahs' coach Shawqy Gharib revealed on Monday that he voted for Real Madrid's Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo for FIFA's ballon d'Or award, hours before the official announcement on Monday.
The Real Madrid star, Barcelona's Argentina forward Lional Messi and Bayern Munich's German keeper Manuel Neuer are the three candidates for this year's award.
The Award is based on votes by coaches and captains of international teams, as well as journalists from around the world.
"I voted for Ronaldo," Gharib told local media on Monday.
The 56-year-old, who was sacked from his post following to Egypt failure in the African qualifiers but not yet replaced, added that he voted also for German coach Joachim Loew for the best coach award.
