Egypt in tough group for Africa U-23 Cup of Nations

Hossam El-Badry's boys will be clashing with strong opponents in the continental cup, which qualifies teams for the Olympics

The Egyptian national under-23 team were drawn in Group B of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, alongside Algeria, Mali, and Nigeria.

The Confederation of African Football held the draw on Monday for the youth tournament that qualifies teams for next year's Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

"The top three teams will qualify to represent at the 2016 Olympic Games," the CAF stated.

The cup is scheduled to take place in Senegal from 28 November to 12 December, in the cities of Dakar and M’Bour.

Under the help of former Ahly coach Hossam El-Badry, the young Pharaohs are targeting the competition's top spot.

Africa U-23 Cup of Nations groups:

Group A: Senegal, South Africa, Zambia, Tunisia

Group B : Egypt, Algeria, Mali, Nigeria
