Brazil will face Egypt in the U-20 World Cup without the team’s highly most rated youngster. Neymar was left out of Brazil’s provisional 26-man squad. The 19-year-old, who produced some impressive displays with Santos in the Brazilian championship, will play with the country’s senior team in the upcoming Copa America instead. The same goes for Sao Paulo’s forward, Lucas.
Brazil’s squad features the players who led the team to the South American U-20 Championship title earlier this year. They include Sao Paulo midfielder Casemiro, Internacional playmaker Oscar and Santos right back Danilo. But it has yet to be trimmed to 21 players before the start of the World Cup
Four-time winner Brazil will kick off their campaign against Egypt, whose best achievement was a third-place finish in 2001, on 29 July. They will also face minnows Austria and Panama in Group E.
