The Egyptian national team assistant coach Osama Nabih has stressed that winning against Chad away is very important for the team in order to ease-up their second-leg mission.

"The technical staff are determined to accomplish a positive result in the first-leg," Nabih stated to the official website of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).

The Pharaohs will play Chad on 14 November away, three days before hosting them at home in the African qualifiers opener for the 2018 World Cup.

After already calling up five foreign based players for the games, the technical staff are finalising the squad and are supposed to announce it ahead of the training camp within the upcoming two days as the camp is supposed to start on Thursday.

"The Egypt-based players will be called up right after each game of the Egyptian Premier League fourth match-day [kicking-off Wednesday and ending Sunday]," Nabih added.

The five call-up players are Italy's Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Switzerland's Basel midfielder Mohamed El-Nenny, Portugal's Braga Ahmed "Kouka" Hassan, Saudi's Ahly winger Mohamed Abdel-Shafy and Greece's Panetolikos midfielder Amr Warda.

While Egypt were given a bye based on their FIFA ranking, Chad scraped into the second round of the qualifiers on the away goal rule following a 2-2 aggregate draw with Sierra Leone.

The winners of the second-round games will be drawn into five four-team groups, with the leaders directly reaching the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia.

Egypt's last appearance in the world's most prestigious football tournament was in 1990.
