Egypt Olympic team to head to Senegal for Rio qualifiers

The Egyptian Under-23 national team are heading to Senegal early Wednesday for the African Cup of Nations qualifier for the 2016 Rio De Janeiro Olympic games

The team, under the leadership of coach Hossam El-Badry, are performing their final training session Tuesday afternoon, a few hours before they depart.

The Egyptian delegation will combine 35 members including the technical staff and the Egyptian Football Association official accompanied by 22 players.

The young pharaohs will be competing alongside Nigeria, Algeria, and Mali in the group stage while the other group includes hosts Senegal, South Africa, Zambia, and Tunisia.

Senegal will host the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations from 28 November to 12 December.

The first three teams will represent the continent in the next Summer Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro.
