Egypt Olympic national team
Egypt's Olympic team will begin on Monday the preparatory camp for the friendly against Japan, within preparations for the 2012 London games final qualifiers.
The team will travel to Japan on 7 August, three days before playing the Japan’s friendly.
“Ahly’s midfielders Shehab Ahmed and Ahmed Shokry will be excluded from the Olympic team's training, as the duo will have a continental duty with their team,” the Olympic team director Abdel-Aziz told Ahram online.
Shehab and Shokry have been added to Ahly’s squad, which is preparing for the African Champions League game against Tunisian side Esperance in the group stage on Saturday.
“The technical staff headed by Hany Ramzy decided to rest the players in the first days of Ramadan,” he added.
Egypt is determined to qualify for the Olympic games for the first time since the 1992 tournament in Barcelona.
