Egypt’s U-20 goalkeeper, Ahmed El-Shennawy is now ready for the young Pharaohs’ coming clash in the World cup against Panama after receiving a blow on the neck in the Brazil match on Saturday.

In the group E opener encounter, the Egyptian team was hit by the injury of talented goalie El-Shennawy, who was substituted in the last minutes, but the player is ok and ready for the coming game.

“Although I was hit hard on my neck, it is not a serious injury and I am ready for the Panama clash,” said the goalkeeper, who had some solid displays as Egypt finished third in the 2011 African Youth Championship, where he also won the fair play award, declared after the game.

El-Shennawy, Egypt’s El-Masry guard, is considered one of the key players in the Egyptian team, having put on an outstanding performance against the Selecao and producing a host of magnificent saves throughout the game.
