Austria U-20 coach Andrea Heraf has confirmed his team has no choice but to win when they meet Egypt next Friday in the third match of the World Cup group stage.
“Egypt’s clash will be like the final for us as its represents our last chance to remain here in Colombia,” Heraf was quoted as saying by the Spanish news agency after the game.
Egypt leads group E alongside Brazil with four points after two games, while Austria is at the bottom with a single point.
“We created a lot of chances against Brazil, but they were the best. I asked my players to forget the defeat and do their best to prepare for the Egyptians,” the coach explained.
Also on Tuesday, Egypt clinched a precious 1-0 win over Panama to edge closer to a place in the tournament’s round of 16.
The young Pharaohs coach Diaa El-Sayed has announced that he is worried before taking on Austria as his players might be exhausted.
