Nigeria's newly appointed manager Samson Siasia announced on Thursday his preliminary list for the Super Eagles upcoming double clash against Egypt in Nations Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria will host the Pharaohs on the 25th of this month in Kaduna before playing the next round four days later at Borg El-Arab stadium in Alexandria.

The new coach called-up 42 players including 20 foreign based players while the remaining 22 are home bases players.

Manchester City's rising star Kelechi Iheanacho features in the list as well as Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi.

West Ham striker Victor Moses, CESKA Moscow frontman Ahmed Musa and Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel also made the list.

Striker Chisom Chikatara, top scorer of the 2016 Africa Nations Championship with his four goals, was also included in the 42-man list.

With only the group winners guaranteed automatic qualification to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, second-placed Nigeria have no choice but to beat group leaders Egypt to improve their position in the group.

Egypt are leading group G with six points, two points ahead of second-placed Nigeria.
